Yesterday…

graffiti_marinaOriginally I thought would be our last day here because I wanted to go to San Antonio this morning, but instead of rushing when we could sleep in, I wanted to stay today too. Plus, we need to pay daycare and our rent today and they didn’t open until later anyways.
Sooooo the CC at contracting put on Lt Col yesterday. I got there a couple minutes after they had started praying, so I stayed outside until they were finished. Frazier was like "Way to be late to your ex-commander!" Lol it was only a couple minutes! I didn’t want to barge in while they were praying, ugh. Anyways, I mingled with her and Dana and once they left talked with a few people I worked with. Everybody is still asking me if I’m going to Lajes and I should already know that even if they were to keep me on, they probably wouldn’t because my husband wouldn’t be able to come regardless, due to their limited medical facilities. Mr. Miller told me about contacting the functional and seeing if there would be anyway to get orders somewhere else, but I can’t just call up and ask. I mean, Sunset told me that as well, but she and Morris outrank me lol. Easier for them to do something than it would for me. I think….if anything…..like what Anderson told me almost a month ago, she could call over there and see if I could either move to another building, or if I could just get another set of PCS orders all together, to a place that would have the medical facilities my husband can go to. I did put down bases in Italy, South Korea, Japan, Germany, UK, Guam and Hawaii (even though it sounds extremely rare for anyone especially in my field going there.) I was telling Mr. Miller how me and my husband were thinking about putting in a base of preference for California or Florida and he was telling me that California is only good for a visit lol. I loved it the couple times I visited, but he might be right. I’m sure the cost of living is ridiculous. Same with Florida, although I loved it when I was there too! But, if I don’t go overseas, I do at least want to live somewhere with a beach and lots of things to do or places nearby we can visit.
Later, we went out to this restaurant called Zookinis. It wasn’t that bad but the service was horrible. The women who seated us didn’t give me the right drink, then when I tried telling her, she INSISTED she gave me tea and what I was drinking was not coke. Really, I was about to say forget it until she said she would check again in the back, THEN realized that she gave me the wrong cup. She was really hard of hearing and after a while I sort of gave up asking for anything. Then our waiter never came by. Since there was a soup and salad bar, my husband and I just helped ourselves until he finally came by to ask if we needed anything. After maybe almost 10 minutes?? He only came by one other time to take our plates and refill drinks, yet he passed by us plenty of times before and after helping other customers, including people who came in after we were already seated. The food was pretty good, but I really don’t have any plans on going back to that place again.
So today, I need to pay my bills. I’ll probably go on one more trip to look for shoes. Maybe I’ll stop by Sears and Shoe Carnival?? I gotta pick up my coke and rum today 🙂 fix my hair because it got fucked up when I went to the gym yesterday, repack my suitcase tonight. I really need to get started on my homework tonight. I don’ t want to be fretting over it on New Years. My History class starts on Monday too, which is also a recognized day off for us too. But…I’m glad I signed up for this stuff after the holidays. My math isn’t that bad, it’s been enough to handle with the holidays so that I don’t feel overwhelmed and I have about 7 weeks left. I tried a International Politics class earlier in December and big mistake. I dropped it the day the class opened up, it was just too much. Well, I should probably get dressed and eat something so that I can start my day.
